Trouser Jeans Three Ways with The Limited

I love skinny jeans just as much as the next girl, but I have to be honest: I’m sick of not really having other denim options.  I was thrilled when flairs came back onto the scene last year (what can I say?  I’m a sucker for vintage silhouettes)  and I’m loving that trouser jeans are making a comeback.  I do love a nice wide leg pant!

When The Limited sent me a pair of their high waisted trousers to test drive I instantly in love.  They have such a great siloutte, a nice deep hue, and the best part:  universal stretch denim!  The result:  class meets comfort in a jean that fits like it was custom made just for you.  No sagging.  No gaping in the back.  No weird leg wrinkles.  Just jeans that fit like a dream.

These jeans are so versatile, I’ve already styled them three different ways.

Work

For a day of meeting with clients, I paired my denim trousers with red suede flats, collared shirt and statement necklace.  My tortouise shell lasses and gray leather tote up the professional anty.

Play

Loving this yellow blouse (also from The Limited) paired with the same trouser jeans, sandals, and a bright patterned headband.  Nothing says “weekend” quite like these oversized cat eye sunnies and this adorable staw cross body bag (a vintage clutch is another great option).  This look is perfect for a Saturday afternoon at a festival with the kids.

Evening

Did someone say date night?!  Sequins + stilettos + denim = cool glamour.  It’s a great way to get dressed up without looking fussy.  Finish the look by adding  modern dangly earrings, a clutch, and some classic red lipstick.  Boom!  Ready for a night out on the town.

What do you think of the trouser jean trend?

Have a pair on your must-have fall shopping list?  Definitely head to The Limited to try these babies on for yourself.

Here’s my tip for selecting the perfect trouser jean for you:  fit is everything!  The jean should fall straight down from the widest part of your thigh.  This will make your legs appear longer and leaner and if that isn’t something to get excited about, I don’t know what is!  😉

xoxo
