Trend Watch: Tropical Prints

I am loving the tropical print trend this summer!  Whether it be swim suits, sundresses, rompers, or crazy pants, nothing says summer quite like banana leaves, palm trees, and hibiscus.

I instantly fell in love with these wild printed pants from H&M.  They were just the right mix of Golden Girls couch and baggy pleated perfection.  Figure flattering?  Not really.  Comfy and fabulous?  You betcha.  I paired them with a statement necklace, sleeveless chambray top, and flat sandals for an easy, professional, and fun summer look.

Here are some more tropical fashions, I have my eye on:

What do you think about the tropical trend?  Loving it?  Or wish it would just stay on your grandma’s moo-moo where it belongs?

The love affair started as soon as they opened their doors and that love has only grown over the years.  It is THE place for on-trend, affordable clothing, shoes and accessories – many of which are not only American-made, but made right here in Rochester NY.   Of the many local designers and makers they support, you can find:  ClaireFlair, Machinator Chaos, Brittany Leigh Jewelry, Josean Vargas, and other’s wares in-store.

As for the clothing, the designs are fresh and modern.  Pieces range from classic, to retro, to boho-chic, the selection is fabulous, and everything is budget-friendly.  There truly is something for everyone and there always seems to something for me:  I don’t think I’ve ever walked out of there without buying something…

Shop owner and clothing designer, Tanvi Asher designs all of her pieces right here in Rochester and production is done in Manhattan.  Everything with a Peppermint label is Tanvi’s original design.  Do you realize how awesome that is?  To be able to shop in a small boutique on Park Ave in ROCHESTER and chat it up with the designer of the dress you are trying on!?!  This is a big BIG DEAL, people.  Get excited!  And get to Peppermint to check out their newest selections in store.
